Hey!! What an AWESOME week for us sports fanzzzzzzzzz!! SO PSYCHED about all of the awesome games this week with the BASEBALL season ramping into the playoff AND pre-season HOCKEY ACTION FULL ON!!! ESPECIALLY with the Ducks vs Kings and the Kings vs the Ducks!! I KNOW the Ducks have 'technically' been a better team in years past ;0 but I will not abandoned my KINGS!!
Michal Handzus and Brian Boyle both tallied to give L.A. the lead in the second period, but Anaheim's Chris Kunitz sent the game to overtime, where a backhander by Chris Pronger dealt the Kings a 3-2 loss to the Ducks Wednesday...SO WHAT the Ducks beat us in OT!! WHATEVER!! IT's early ;0 I wear my jearsey or SOMETHING purple to every game...so I hope to seeeeeeeee u this season!! i also like to hang at the Fox Sports bar...bartendar Rich is DA MAN!! ;) Goooooooooooo KINGS!!

GREAT NEWS for fans of Travis Barker and well...just great news for anyone who is compationate and just hoped for the best for anyone who might be in that awful situation...Travis has been released from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia..."Travis Barker was discharged from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital this morning," a spokesperson said and "He left in good condition."
Travis...who's 32, had been recovering there for the past nine days after suffering second and third degree burns following a Learjet crash that killed four people. Despite burns on his torso and lower body, Barker has been "trying to stay upbeat," his pal Bill Nosal recently told the Associated Press. There are also reports that Travis won't be walking for awhile since his feet were badly burned...DJ AM, meanwhile, recently updated his Facebook page since his release. "Adam Goldstein is the luckiest guy alive," he wrote in a status update on Friday...and speaking of Adam...he went to the first memorial service ;(
DJ AM joined mourners at a memorial service for Chris Baker on Monday, 10 days after the plane crash that killed Baker and three others. DJ AM and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker were the only survivors; both were badly burned. On Friday, DJ AM, was released from the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. He returned to Los Angeles by bus. "Both Travis and DJ AM wanted to be back for [the funeral]. Family and friends had a private memorial for Baker on Saturday. "All his family and friends that he grew up with were there," says his mother, Linda Warn... "The Impala Club that he used to participate in when he was younger brought their cars and parked them all out front. They also dug out some photos of Chris and we made them into large photos for the memorial." ;(

Heather Locklear was arrested last night in Santa Barbara on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
A resident reported Heather was "driving erratically" while pulling out of a parking lot. The California Highway Patrol then found Locklear's car parked on a state highway and blocking a lane. After talking with her, the officer determined she was under the influence of something and arrested her.
She was released without having to post bail.... ;0 hang tough girl!!

Awesome night last night at The Whisky A Go Go on Sunset Blvd...the top 5 finalists in our Rockstar competition KICKED ****!!! Doors opened at 7...with me, Kade, Josh and Darren and the whole 987fm posse...taking up a little area downstairs by the bar...the bands were upstairs getting ready...and yes...kinda freakin out too!! I talked to Nina from Dead Rose Beauty and Brian from Paperback Hero (who are friends and perform on a lot of the same ROCK nights at local clubs)...both said all day they had knots in the stomaches ;0 so all of the lead singers went on stage and drew a # to decide the order of performance...first up...
THE INSTANT MESSANGERS...
THEN...DEAD ROSE BEAUTY...(shout out to Thomas the bass player who's roomate is a bartender at my restaurant...what up Jill!!) and lead singer NINA ROCKS!!!
THEN...MAYDAY! MAYDAY!! The only band I didn't get to say HI too cuz it got too crazy last night ;0 but I emailed them congrats and good luck on MySpace ;)http://www.myspace.com/maydaymayday
At this point...we're half way thru...having cocktails...hanging...if feels GREAT to see everyone from the station (since I'm not here during the week as much)...our GM and my long time friend 'Phat Pat', Carlo and Suzy & Jenn from sales...Justin from OZOMATLI...TONY (the awesome guy who did our murals at the Rockin Penthouse) and then...all of the sudden...as I'm running my mouth....to Bryce from LIFEHOUSE...I notice my throat starting to REALLY HURT...I was like...WTF?? ;0 I feel fine...maybe just too much yellin and screaming for the bands?? Geeeeeeeeez...I go outside to put my friend Julia's name on the list and I hear NO VOICE ;0
Back to the bands...BRIAN FANG was too cute...the only accoustic act on the bill...with his whole cute family there...the dude ROCKED IT!!! He was AWESOME!! Just him and a guitar and a kick **** voice ;)
And then finally...the night is has been building to this...the last act and local favorite... PAPERBACK HERO...I say local fav cuz I've known Brian, the lead singer for years and his band made it to the finals LAST TIME...for Rockstar 2...anyways...the guy is a sweetheart...I remember his awesome girlfriend Jen from when we all hung out at the Key Club for the finals like almost a year or 2 ago?? wow, when was it ;0 my mind escapes...don't hate...and don't hate that I'm blogging this during the Metallica song!! Come on!! It's like almost 8 minutes...I can get sooooooooo much done!! ;0 Ok...back to the show...here comes the last band...PAPERBACK HERO...they're just REALLY GOOD ;)
YEAH!!! A BIG FINISH as the judges our music director Julie Pilat (she also oversee's KIISfm), Celina from the Whisky A Go Go (a long time industry vet who books THE best bands at the Whisky and has seen the best and worst over the years) and the dude from MySpace (that I didn't get to meet cuz they were all upstairs) Also helping put their 2cents...the GRAMMY and Nokia people...because the winning band will also perform at the opening of the Grammy Museum at Nokia LIVE (next to Staples Center in downtown)...Josh, Kade and Darren head to the stage with the big 25,000 check...at this point I have NO VOICE...so in fear of looking like a mime...I didn't go up ;( bummer...cuz then it was time to announce...that...
