Coldplay singer Chris Martin admits he was a late bloomer.He tells the new issue of Rolling Stone (on newsstands now), "I had a tricky time with girls until I was, like, 21. "I got trapped in the friendship tip many, many times," adds Martin, whose band's new disc Viva La Vida drops June 17. "It was like, 'I need to be a rock star because this is no good: Being the kind of guy that everybody likes but no one wants to have sex with,'" Martin recalls. "I don't want to be the person that makes everybody laugh before they go off and bang. I want to be the guy that everybody bangs." Still, he admits he hasn't had a lot of hot-and-heavy romances in his life.He says Gwyneth Paltrow is his only "serious relationship."Is that weird? I don't think it's that weird," the singer says. "It wouldn't be weird 200 years ago... Think of Romeo and Juliet."He says that he enjoys the challenge of being married to the Oscar-winner, with whom he has two children: Apple, 4, and Moses, 2. "I always felt it would be great to be with a very powerful woman because it would keep you in your place," he says. Production Issues To Delay Coldplay Tour????But DONT WORRY...LA IS COOL ;)
Coldplay has been forced to postpone the start of its North American tour by two weeks-- they blame it one "production delays" .The news means that the show won't be ready for its planned June 29th kick-off in Philadelphia. The itinerary will now begin July 14-15 in Los Angeles it was to close August 4th in Chicago but will instead wrap that day in Boston.Tickets for the scrapped dates will be valid for the new ones, but refunds are also available at points of purchase. For an updated itinerary, visit the band's Web site.(In 2009, Coldplay will play European stadiums and might even play such venues in North America next year.)
U2 Won't Adopt Radiohead's Name-Your-Own-Price Model
Radiohead released music for free. Coldplay released music for free. Don't even think about U2 doing it for free.U2 manager Paul Mc****ss tells the BBC the upcoming U2 album will not be released the way the Radiohead "In Rainbows" album was, with its name-your-own-price. He feels Radiohead's method of release backfired, since the majority of fans didn't pay anything for it. Mc****ss says sales of actual CDs are still an enormous part of U2's business, although the band will work with whatever technology is available.
TRENT REZNOR IS WORKING ON A CABLE SERIES...Trent Reznor is working on a cable TV series based on his 2007 concept album, "Year Zero". Reznor is working on it with producer Lawrence Bender, who is Quentin Tarantino's partner and also produced the Oscar-winning Al Gore documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". "Year Zero" takes place approximately 15 years in the future, with the U.S. a religious dictatorship and the world on the brink of environmental and social collapse. Reznor has hinted that he'd be interested in a film version of the story, and has also hinted at a recorded sequel at some point.
White Stripes reunite on stage in Detroit!!!! Kinda...;(
Meg White made a surprise appearance on stage in Detroit on Saturday night, as The Raconteurs played a show at the Fillmore in their hometown.The White Stripes drummer showed up onstage and "tapped on a few of the drums", while Jack White said "Hey everybody, this is Meg White!" But that was apparently the extent of the brief appearance. Meg then waved and left the stage as the other Raconteurs returned for their encore.
