Tonights BRAND NEW episode is going to feature the track "Dirty Laundry" by LA duo, Bitter:Sweet. Are you a fan of old spy movies from the sixties (think James Bond)?? Then this music is perfect for you! Swanky, smooth, and hip. The two - Shana and Kiran - infuse horns to their music and it will make you feel like you are in a really cool car chase! The duo may sound familiar to you as well because their music has been chosen to be the theme song to the TV show Lipstick Jungle. Los Angeles based band The Wallburds will be featured on tonights episode with their single "Hourglass" which is a perfect mixture of indie rock and a slightly dancey groove. If you are into bands like The Strokes, Islands, or The Redwalls then this is a band you should be checking out! Bandmates Cesar, Tommy, and Jose have been together sinse 2003 and are currently not signed. The trio has booked shows in the LA area and and their song "Heart As My Home" was featured on a Sony Pictures DVD! Not bad for a band that isn't even signed! Tonights episode is going to be spinning a track from LA indie dance duo, Uh Huh Her. Their song "Not A Love Song" is off their album Common Reaction. The song is a mixture of rock, synthesizers, and power pop all while being complemented by raw vocals. The girls - Camila and Leisha - are currently on tour and will be hitting up LA on November 14th at The Avalon. Tonights episode will feature a band from Irvine by the name of The Jakes.... though no one in the band is named Jake. They have been written up in tons of local magazines and papers such as The OC Weekly and OC Register saying things such as "The Jakes are minors making major music". We'll be playing the track "Cough Syrup" tonight off their album Shake My Hand. The band has some shows coming up at clubs but really want to start branching out to college campuses. On the show tonight we'll be playing a really cool track called "Black and Gold" from Sam Sparro. It's a soulful dance song that will make you want to groove all night long. Sparro is from Australia but moved to Los Angeles as a child. Over the years he moved from London, England and spent some more time in Australia. But it was when he came back to LA that he wrote his single "Black and Gold" in a coffee shop he was working at! He is currently working on songs for Lindsay Lohan's upcoming album.
