Mark Ronson

So I've literally been in love with Mark Ronson's album Version, since I got my little hands on it. In case you haven't heard it the album gives off a very lounge esk feel while managing to mix in latin and sixties flare. It makes me think if you were to go to a cuban dance club in the sixties. Very swanky, very hip. To me its one of those rare albums that meshes together extremely well from beginning to end. And because Mark is from London, England (though became well known when he moved to NY) he has made a ton of connections with some of the biggest artists in the UK. I mean, Lilly Allen, Robbie Williams, and Amy Winehouse make appearances on the album just to name a few. I love that the album doesn't try to be something it isn't. It's a collection of "versions" of hits - covers if you will. Mark being known mostly as a DJ though blew me away when I found out he plays a ton of instruments! Anyways I really need to stop bragging about this record, but seriously ladies how adorable is Mark??? If you haven't picked it up yet ... do it already! I'll leave you with the video for the single "Just" featuring Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet.

So I figured I would let you in on a little LA secret - The Blood Arm. Don't let the name fool you, there is nothing sadistic or bloody about this band. Fancy piano key beats will have you tapping your toe from beginning to end. I'm particularly fond of the jam "Suspicious Character" and can't get it out of my head after I listen to it. But I wanted to share their latest video for their single "Do I Have Your Attention". Now go off and brag to all your friends that you know something they don't!
